About Us
HALO began with a simple idea: every foster child deserves a day filled with fun, happiness, and connection. Fort Myers High School student Sophia Fox turned that idea into reality by organizing HALO, a student-led club with branches at both Fort Myers High School and Canterbury School. HALO is dedicated to making a positive impact on foster children in Lee County.

Our Mission
HALO partners with the Children’s Network of SWFL to create opportunities for foster children to enjoy fun-filled events at exciting venues like Sky Zone, Defy, and IMAG. These events pair high school student volunteers with foster children, providing a chance for connection, mentorship, and friendship. Foster parents are welcome to join the fun and participate alongside their children.
When a foster child attends a HALO event, they’re not just having a fun day; they’re building positive relationships, creating lasting memories, and experiencing the joy of belonging. For our high school volunteers, it’s a chance to learn about the importance of giving back to the community and making a real difference in a child’s life. HALO members also earn community service hours, which can count towards NHS and CAS requirements.
